Unlike many other all female groups, we are a mix of pros and amateurs who help their members become the best they can be through dance. During our classes you will learn a choreography meant to be performed (performing is optional), socialize with a bunch of fun women but you will also improve your dance skills and get in shape. Our dance numbers celebrate the hard-core women who fought for women's rights and visit the different eras when significant progress was made towards La Liberation de la Femme…. Think 1920s Flapper, 1960s Gogo, turn of the Century French Cancan, etc. All that, with a French twist to it! Our Season goes from September-June. And there are 3 sessions/year.

Bachata

One of our favorite things about bachata dancing, is a true beginner and an experienced dancer can get on the dance floor and dance together! This ideology was used in creating this course structure! This course has been designed and implemented in a way that has been able to teach bachateros of ALL levels at the same time! Everyone in the class is sure to have fun, feel challenged, and leave accomplished! Each movement, footwork, and shine pattern is taught in AT LEAST 3 levels! This way, everyone is working on the same technique or skill, while learning how to implement them in ways that are new and challenging for them! Drop-Ins Accepted throughout the series.

Kizomba: Movement and Connection

Kizomba, often described as an "African tango," is a close-embrace partner dance from the African nation of Angola, booming. The two components making kizomba so enjoyable and unique are its characteristic African body movement and the dense connection between lead and follow. This is a comprehensive technique course which will give you the proper, authentic foundation to become a high-level kizomba (and semba!) dancer and prepare students to explore other related dances and styles. The course is appropriate for both total beginners as well as intermediate students who want to become advanced dancers, and Peter recommends taking it more than once to refine and perfect your dancing.

Level Up

Level Up is a fitness class that uses choreographed dance routines to get the most out of a workout. It's hard to explain the level of enthusiasm for this class; we suggest that you come in and experience it for yourself! The element of fun and the driving music is what makes the class popular with fitness enthusiasts who may be bored with stepping up and down or dancing to the same type of music every night. Please note there is NO INSTRUCTION for this class; students follow along and keep moving the whole time. All skill levels welcome!

Zouk

Brazilian Zouk evolved from the partner dance known as the Lambada. The most characteristic feature of Brazilian Zouk is the follower's upper body movements which are led out of axis by intricate leading and following techniques. Other features include body isolations and tilted turns. It is a dance with well defined basic steps and rhythmic patterns and a dance that caters to creativity and improvisation.
