FAQs AND POLICIES
The advantage of social dancing is that no particular “outfit” or “gear” is required which means fewer expenses for parents. Your child can attend classes in their school clothes or regular street clothes. However, we do advise you to get shoes for your child that are dedicated to dancing. See details below.
Dance shoes are not compulsory the first year. They are however advised. It will help your child dance better as well as saving their knees and other joints by allowing the right traction and protection on the floor. If you choose not to buy a pair of dance shoes, your child must have a pair of shoes dedicated to dancing only. It can be a simple pair of Keds type shoes. During the first day of class, our staff will advise you on what kind of shoes to use for your child.
**Please be on time for class. Tardiness not only disrupts the class in progress, but it makes your child feel isolated when you are late arriving or picking them up. For their safety, your child will not be able to participate in class if they arrive more than 10 minutes late. They will be able to observe the class and take notes only.
**Please do not miss classes as your child may get behind and may hold the rest of the class back. If your child has to miss a class, please ask a friend to record and share what has been taught during the “missed” class. It promotes teamwork and helps us keep the level of dancing to a high quality.
What if my child misses a class?
It is ok to miss a class as long as your child doesn’t miss too many in a row. We are also aware that during Spring or Fall break, you child may miss a week of class. We are here to help your child progress and will do whatever we can to help them catch up.
PICK UP POLICY:
We want your child to be safe. As a result, any child under 14 years old will not be released to a parent or guardian who has been nominated by you on your release form that is filled out at registration.
